Grayhart Lightfoot Early Morning Rain TD RN JH NSD CGC V being shown by her sire Parker's breeder, Bonnie Lane, at the sweepstakes held by the WCWDCA host club to the WCA Nationals in Gettysburg, PA on May 19, 2010. I show Sky in the ring, but took advantage of the opportunity to see her expertly presented by Bonnie - it was a thrill to see her strut her stuff. Thank you Bonnie for presenting Sky, and to Linda Hartheimer and Steve Lane for giving Sky and I both some additional training for the ring.

Sky earned her Rally Novice title at the WDCWC Specialty on May 18 with a 3rd place and score of 96. Sky also qualified at the WCA National Specialty in Rally with a 1st place. I was very proud of Sky's performance outdoors on grass with lots of geese in the area. Maybe we will pursue obedience. Sky also made her debut in Agility Novice JWW, very premature in terms of her limited training to date; however, she had a great time and showed the enthusiasm she will bring to the ring as we continue to prepare to compete in agility.

Mothers Day Hike @ Black Balsam May 9 2010

We hiked today at around 5000 ft, where Spring is just beginning. The "Sarvis" is still blooming - the name is also referred to as the Service tree, since it's blossoms herald the beginning of spring and the time the circuit preachers began making their rounds to attend their flocks spread throughout the mountains in this region after the winter.

We hiked the Flat Laurel Creek trail today, an easy trail with many creek crossings. While out today Sky flushed a grouse, think quail on steroids. She was most interested and gave chase. We hoped to flush more, but no luck today.

Sky Maturity Placement

Grayhart Lightfoot Early Morning Rain TD JH NSD V was awarded a 4th place at the 2010 Southern Maturity held in April in Perry GA. Sky also placed in her Futurity last year. We are very proud of her accomplishments to date and look forward to many good times in the future.

Sky 2nd place in Sarge's photo contest

Sky earned a 2nd place in the dog division of the Sarge's Rescue annual photo contest fund raiser on April 24th. There were about 100 photo's under judgement in this division so we were very proud to have been chosen for a placement. Interestingly enough, the first place winning photograph was also taken at Max Patch, where this photo was taken, one of our all time favorite places to go hiking.

Parker's first JH Leg!

CH Hibourne's It's All About Me, aka Parker, earned his first Junior Hunter leg last weekend with his owner Bonnie Lane. Parker is Sky's sire and is showing the birdiness his pups have displayed. Congrats to Parker and owners Steve & Bonnie - while hunt test season is almost over, I'm sure Parker will pick up where he left off and gain his title in the fall.
