Dean Lake Photography was at our the WCDFA Kennel Club annual Bark in the Park event doing pet portraits. You have seen Dean's work on my blog before, she is an excellent agility action shot photographer and competes not only in agility with her Golden Retriever, but also is wonderful in dock diving! The BIP event is always a big hit in the community, we give demo's on agility, directed retrieving in field work, sheep and duck herding, obedience (including simple instruction on how to teach anyone in attendance how to teach simple commands such as sit and down), the Haywood County and Jackson County K-9 cop teams come and talk to the public, an "ask the vet" booth and many other vendors, our ever popular raffle, kids games, and a fantastic DJ keeping things moving with great music and commentary. We hold the event in conjuction with AKC support of Responsible Dog Owner Day. It was one of the three major events our small club hosts, the others being our two day all breed/obed show/trial in June and our 3 day/2ring agility trial in September. Our small club serves all counties west of Asheville NC and south of I-40, if you are ever in the area, come attend one of our events or visit us at a meeting!
